Yeast infection in a toddler is often started with diaper rashes. Diaper rashes is quite common and will usually clear up with 3-4 days. It can be easily treated with diaper rash cream. If you realize the rashes is not cleared up after 3-4 days and the rashes is still bright red, it could be possible that your toddler is suffering from yeast infection.
There are many simple ways to cure a yeast infection in a toddler. If the yeast infection condition is very mild, it can be easily cured by an antifungal cream. However if the problem still persist or have got worse, it is best to stop the medication as sometimes it could mean your toddler is allergic to the medication or certain drugs. If such cases happen, you could some non drugs remedies such as using natural methods to get rid of their yeast infection.
At the same time, you should constantly change your toddler's diaper, frequent changing of the diapers will also help to improve the condition. This will also prevent the yeast from staying alive as yeast love to multiply and grow in heat trapping and moisture environment. Use very mild soap to bath or wash your toddler after bowel movement and make sure you dry them with a clean and dry towel. Change the towel every day as this will prevent bacteria accumulation on the towel which may worsen the yeast infection.
Include probiotics into your toddler diet. You can feed them with yogurt or applying yogurt to the baby's bottom. This may help the ease the problem of yeast infection or even diaper rashes.
