Potential Harms In Synthetic Baby Creams

We all know that baby creams with synthetic base are never good for our little babies. If you had blind faith for some leading brands out there, well you better start thinking twice, as regular creams in the market now are in a petroleum base. Petroleum gel is poisonous and carcinogenic, and that's not it, some baby creams have even more harmful ingredients that can cause serious health risks to your child's delicate skin.

This article will give you the list of some harmful ingredients that should not be in your baby's cream.

Petroleum gel: The by product of refining petroleum. Petroleum is carcinogenic if it is ingested. Babies have the habit of licking their hands and fingers. This ingredient also damages the skin in the long run as it blocks the spores on the skin, trapping dirt particles inside the pores and increasing the chances of infection.

Benzene: an ingredient commonly used as disinfectant and germ killer which makes it a potential poison. This is one of the most poisonous pollutants in the air and can cause cancer by damaging the bone marrow.

Para Amino Benzoic Acid: used mostly in sun screen lotions and skin creams. This can cause irritations, photo sensitivity and skin disorders.

Carbomer: is a potential allergen and irritant. This ingredient is widely used as a thickener (sometimes as emulsifier) and stabilizer in most creams and lotions. But this can cause severe irritation if it gets contact with the eyes.

Synthetic alcohol: a strong ingredient that is usually used as a disinfectant. Can be very toxic when ingested.

Phosphoric acid: is a transparent solid commonly used as a fertilizer. It is an acid formed from phosphorous pentoxide which is also widely used in creams. This can cause irritations to your baby's delicate skin.

Glycols (of various types) are known to be carcinogenic and mutagenic. It will increase the mutation of cells and organs which later causes cancer.

Read the label of the cream you want to purchase and look for these ingredients, if your desired cream has one of these, then it will be wise to not purchase them.
