I thought I'd be the perfect mother. Relax after every nap and before each feeding, and often in between. Ensure that a thorough cleaning with a delicious scent and baby wipes at any time. the baby's bottom was beautfiul. Note that I have in the past. And this was baby number six! When we had foster parents cared for our part of the ground, baby. Then it hit. Diaper rash. It 'happened so fast. And I had no idea how to handle it.
I received advice from all corners of the globe. And the funny thing is that even if everyone had their idea, they were all good, and all together. Hmmmm ....
My mother praised the flour brown.
My friend swore Eucerin.
My aunt just said A & D work for their children.
But a further promotion of mother swore Butt Paste!
And finally were the distribution of samples of another diaper rash cream in my shop!
What did I do?
According to panic and calls for the Council Nurse Ianalyzed the situation and advised to plan my attack.
The rash occurs because the child's tender skin is exposed to stimuli. Sometimes it is an allergic reaction to a food or new towels. Sometimes the brand of diaper is the culprit. Many reasons can lead to diaper rash, and many solutions may be deleted.
Now I consider a variety of things at hand and here's my personal plan of attack for hands on healing.
1. Mix the distilled water, 2-3drops of *tea tree oil and a dash of castille soap. Soak papertowels in this for diaper wipes.
2. Change baby diaper very often and try to give a good airing if time permits.
3. Slather on zinc diaper ointment and then whatever heavy duty moisturizer I have on hand (vaseline, Eucerine) over this. If it was bedtime add a diaper liner for good measure.
Some other tips I use:
Keep Clotrimazole on hand for yeast rashes.
Keep a handy chart of the different types of diaper rashes
Call the doctor is improvement isn't seen in 24 hours.
With these methods I don't fear the dreaded diaper rash any more.
*(Tea Tree Oil, a natural antiseptic, germicide, antibacterial, fungicide that while safe to apply neat or directly to the skin, should be heavily diluted before using on baby skin)
